Meet Viera

I believe that everyone has the inner strength and ability to create positive change in their lives. Sometimes, however, life can feel overwhelming, and having the right support can make all the difference.

Counselling is not only for times of crisis. It can be a valuable space to explore everyday worries, relationship difficulties, life changes, stress, anxiety, or simply those moments when things do not feel quite right. Whatever you are facing, I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly and be truly heard.

As a fully qualified and experienced Level 5 Therapeutic Counsellor, I work with children 11+, adults, and couples. My aim is to build a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring your thoughts and feelings, and working through whatever may be holding you back.

Who I support

I support clients experiencing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, abuse, addiction, anger, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity and sexuality concerns, OCD, phobias, stress, workplace challenges, redundancy, menopause and other women's health concerns, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and post-traumatic stress. I also work with those exploring spirituality, cultural issues, child-related concerns, and life transitions.

My Approach to Counselling

My approach is rooted in Humanistic and Person-Centred Therapy, which means you are at the centre of everything we do. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you, helping you gain insight, confidence, and clarity.

We will work together at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure, no judgement, and no expectation to have all the answers. Therapy is your space, and you will always have control over what you choose to share and explore.

Although our sessions are primarily based on talking therapy, I understand that words do not always come easily. When it feels helpful, we can also use creative approaches such as art, writing, journalling, or other methods that allow you to express yourself in ways that feel natural and meaningful.

Every person is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. Whether you are looking for support through a difficult time, seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, or hoping to make lasting changes in your life, I am here to support you on that journey.

You do not have to face things alone.

I offer face to face or online counselling sessions.

Creating A Supportive Space

I provide a confidential, warm, compassionate and empathetic environment, where you can feel truly heard and safely explore your thoughts and feelings.

Taking The First Step

Recognising that you need help can be daunting and requires courage.

Rest assured that any inquiries will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and I will support you as you take these initial steps. You will never be judged -neither at the start nor at any point during our work together.

Next Steps in Your Journey

Viera harrisons counselling room

After reaching out, I typically suggest a brief, complimentary phone conversation to better understand your situation. There's no pressure or obligation; if you choose to continue, we can schedule your first session.

We can set goals and establish an initial timeframe, reviewing your progress regularly.

Consistent weekly sessions tend to be most effective, but it's your choice.

Navigating Your Path Together

It's important to note that therapy may not always follow a straight forward path. We will regularly review your progress and adjust our approach as needed.

Like life, there may be bumps along the way, but we will navigate them together at your own pace toward a better place.

Location

My private practice is based in a peaceful village half way between Spalding & Holbeach, South Lincolnshire.

We can meet in my therapy room or connect remotely via video or phone, which can be just as effective.

Therapy Animal

Having a calm, friendly animal present can help create a soothing and supportive atmosphere, especially for clients who may feel anxious or uneasy.

My ‘Therapy cat’, Michael, can be available to join sessions and provide comfort and companionship.

Standard fee: £50 per 1-hour session
